Description
A Spinning Jenny allows spools of high-tensile wire to unroll without tangling so a worker with back, arm or leg impairments does not need to carry or de-tangle heavy rolls of wire. High tensile wire is used for livestock fencing, orchard trellises and to support pipelines in maple syrup operations. It comes in rolls 4000 feet long, and can weigh 100 pounds per roll. It requires strength, endurance and good use of the hands to unroll the wire without tangling it when building or repairing fences or trellises.
The Spinning Jenny holds the weight of the wire spool, but allows it to spin freely when the worker pulls the wire to unroll it. When fastened to a pallet, the Spinning Jenny and wire spool can be used in a pickup truck, utility vehicle, trailer, tractor loader or three-point-hitch without manually lifting or moving the wire. The loose end of the wire is fastened to the first post, then the vehicle holding the Spinning Jenny drives along the fence or trellis path unwinding the wire along the way.
