FreeWheel Wheelchair Attachment with Pneumatic Tire for Standard Frames and Standard Footrests (Black)

Wheelchairs are difficult to move around on rough terrain.

Description

Workers who use a standard wheelchair often find moving over tough terrain very difficult.

A FreeWheel Wheelchair Attachment allows workers to roll over gravel, grass, and other outside surfaces with less exertion.  Workers will have more access to working areas with the attachment, which lifts the the chair so the small front wheels clear the ground.

  • Easy attachment for off-road use
  • Fits on most wheelchairs
  • Rolls through grass, pebbles, bumps, cobblestone and more
  • Comes with a perch to mount on the back of your wheelchair
  • Inflatable tire to absorb shock and service at any bike shop

Product description

Color:Black

The FreeWheel is your ticket to Freedom, Independence, and increased Mobility.

With the FreeWheel your wheelchair casters are lifted off the ground, turning your chair into a 3-wheeler, so you simply roll over any obstacle: curbs, dirt trails, grass, gravel, snow, and sand. No more wasting energy and slowing down to pop a wheelie.

The FreeWheel comes with all you need to set it up on your rigid chair. The initial installation takes approximately 15 min., after that the FreeWheel clamps on in seconds. Users with folding chairs will need the folding adaptor from Living Spinal.

Weighing less than 5 lbs. it is easy to install … and when you go inside, it easily stores on a “perch” on the back of your chair, which is included with the FreeWheel.

Specifications
– Maximum recommended user weight: 280 lb. for the FreeWheel, 250 lbs. with the Adaptor for Folding Wheelchair.
– Standard Frame: Standard wheelchair frames have a distance of 4-3/4″ from the top of the footrest to the floor. If your chair has a greater distance, you will need to order the proper frame hight, also listed on Amazon.
– Installation instructions are included in your kit
– Footrest Angle: If the angle of your footrest is more than 12% the FreeWheel may not work. Please message us through Amazon for more information.

Question: Can you take your freewheel on a plane as hand luggage, or does it go in the hold with the larger luggage. Do you get charger for taking it on a plane

Answer: We always take the FreeWheel on the plane and store it in the overhead bin. There has never been an issue. We just have it on the chair all the way down the jetway, until transferring to the aisle chair.

Most flight attendants assist with both the FreeWheel and our seat cushion. No charge, ever. Everyone has always been very helpful.

Be sure to look at the FreeWheel Rack. It’s a great add-on for your FreeWheel and can carry up to 25 lbs.
