Unless you live in a far northern climate, dealing with summer heat can be a challenge for workers who have outside jobs.  Construction workers, landscapers, farmers, groundskeepers and others must deal with higher temperatures during the summer months.

Workers with disabilities relating to stroke, respiratory and endurance, or other problems that affect body heat regulation and tolerance have a even harder time dealing with summer months.  Exposure to heat may result in more severe health risks or death because it exacerbates preexisting conditions, including cerebral, respiratory, and cardiovascular diseases.  Heat also has an impact on those who are taking medications that may affect the body’s ability to regulate its temperature (antidepressants, mood stabilizers, diuretics)
