Description
Workers with balance issues or disabilities such as post stroke, seizure, Meniere’s disease, BPPV (positional vertigo), labyrinthitis, and vertigo are all occasionally affected by the disability. A farmer who is working in a barn may develop the balance problem without warning and be at risk of falling or even moving much. This can obviously greatly affect their work.
Having a cane handy can help the worker with their balance to avoid falling. However, a typical cane is around 3 feet in length and is cumbersome to carry around if not needed.
The use of a Collapsible Cane is a great alternative. The Cane itself can fold down to 11 inches. When it is not being used, the cane can be folded up and attached to a belt with a carabiner, (easily obtained at a hardware store or here) leaving a worker’s hands free to continue their tasks.
